Racist Rams?

So I guess Rush Limbaugh has made some nasty comments about the NFL, a lot of them borderline racist. Apparently he compared league games to watching the Bloods and Crips fight, just without weapons. Yet for some reason he still wants to buy a stake in an NFL team, saying that he loves the NFL and the St. Louis area. I personally really hope that he is not able to buy into the league, I feel like this would be a bad reflection of the NFL's values, especially considering the racist remarks he has made. The good thing is that there are players who will refuse to play for the Rams if he is able to buy a claim, hopefully this will help affect the current owners decision.

  1. I was actually watching a report about this not more than an hour ago. Apparently NFL commisioner Roger Goddell has basicallly said that Rush wouldn't be an ideal canidate because he is such a polorazing character that it would be disparaging towards the goal the league is working towards. The league has really been working on its public image and Rush would only serve to hamper the progress because of his notorious persona. I doubt it will even go through.

  2. I feel that you arent seeing this situation correctly. He may compare the NFL to watching the crips and bloods fighting, this is true. But he should be able to buy stakes in any team he wishes. Personally I would love to walk down the street and watch a good killing between the crips and bloods, maybe a stabbing of one of their prospects moving up in the gang. I dont care how he looks at the NFL as long as he has money and doenst commit any crime then he should be able to do his thing. Whether he is right or wrong is another story. The NFL isnt about ethics, its is an entertainment buisness revolving around cash.

  3. But the problem Nate is that it is not good for the NFL from a business standpoint. Having him as a owner of one of the teams, even if it is only partial, is not good PR for the league or the Rams. He will bring nothing but controversy and shine both the league and the team in a bad light. Not only that, but a lot of players have said they will not play for the team if he is in on the deal, and no players means no games, which means no money, which means bad business.
